History

             European was the first explorers that have arrived in Michigan. Eight Native American tribes was home to the Algonquianand they were the Ojibwa, Ottawa, Miami, Chippawa, Menomine, and the Potawatomi. The first explorer who have explores Michigan was named Etinne Brule. Brule was born in 1592 in France. He wishes to learn the Algonquian language and to know about there cultures and habits.Brule have probably visited the five Great Lakes. He was likely the first European to complete his expeditions across North America. Brule have visited lots of lakes and rivers that he have been through.

             French have build forts, trading posts, and villages in the 17th century of Michigan. The most important fort was the Pontchartrain du Detroit. That's how it was named Detroit.  The American Revelutionary War who were the European population primarily American colonists that supported independence is against the Britain.
